Simple Easter Cake

Easter Sunday, I made a very simple cake that has a very simple message on it. This message is very simple, Jesus died and rose again for each of us.

When you think of Easter, sometimes we forget the true simple message. Sometimes we get so focused on making sure we have dyed the easter eggs, stuffed the brightly colored eggs, hide all the eggs, picked the right easter basket, picked the right easter dress, and made the perfect Easter dinner. We can still do all that if we simply know how to have balance between the two.

Just Remember: Jesus loves you!

What Kind of Friend are You?

"A friend loves at all times." Proverb 17:17

What score do you earn as a friend? Are you that perfect 10 friend, are you that average 6 friend, or the worst friend ever a 1?

Friendships are something we have to put time and energy into, they are something that will not just happen overnight. To be a perfect 10 friend, we must learn by giving, taking, forgiving, sharing, praying, and empathizing. These are all great traits that we must learn to keep and make friends. Just like Jesus, He is our friend that loves us at all times. He is the true example that we should all follow.

My Cakes

Here are just a few pictures of cakes that I have made. I am no where near a professional but I do love to decorate cakes. Growing up, my mother always made cakes for weddings, birthdays, and anything else... I decided to take cake decorating lessons while I was pregnant with our first child, which was 5 years ago. I did this so when Birthdays happen, I can make the cakes and not a store bought cake. Enjoy my pictures...

ACTS

A woman went into her kitchen to find a burglar loaded down with a bunch of stuff he was stealing from her kitchen. Not having any kind of weapon to scare him off, she raised her hand and said "Acts 2:38," and proceeded to quote scripture.

The burglar froze in place and didn't move. The woman called 911; the police arrived and were amazed to find the burglar still frozen where he stood.

"What did you say to him that kept him from moving?" they asked the woman.

She told them that she had simply said Acts 2:38 and quoted scripture.

The police chuckled and escorted the burglar out to the patrol car. "Why did the woman's quoting scripture scare you so much?" they asked.

"Scripture?" said the burglar, "I thought she said she had an ax and two 38's!

Popcorn Kernels For Jesus!

Popcorn kernels.....What will they look like once they are popped? Pour the golden yellow kernels into the popcorn popper of your choice (mine is an air popper), then turn it on or plug it it and watch what happens as the popper gets hot. These tiny kernels explode into popcorn pieces, they are all different shapes and sizes. Individually they are just popcorn pieces but put them together and add some salt to taste and butter (like at the movies) and AHA! we have a big bowl of delicious popcorn.

You might say how can we apply this to our lives? It is rather simple but we as Christians sometimes just have a hard time because we can not see the big picture. According to Psalms 139:13-14, We are fearfully and wonderfully made and in Jeremiah 29:11, God has a plan for us. We are like the popcorn pieces, we were each individually made by Him. We are all different: in our appearances, in our fingerprints, in our abilities, in our talents, in our strengths and weaknesses, of course this list could continue.. With each unique person God has a plan for each of us, some of us may already know that plan and some may still be waiting to hear from HIM, but regardless there will be a PURPOSE. Just like when that popcorn kernel explodes it becomes a piece of popcorn but at first glance we think it is only good for eating when in fact it can be used in many ways, for example: decoration, crafts, etc.

So how does one come together to become a big bowl of delicious popcorn? We as Chrisitans, then come together bringing all of our differences and work together. Some of us may be the supporters, some may be the encouragers, some may be the leaders, etc but in whatever role God places in you, remember You Are Special and You Were Created for HIS Purpose!
